Bishkek, Sept. 21, 2021 . / Kabar / . Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Talant Mamytov met on Tuesday with Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan for an official visit.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported that the two speakers discussed the development of political-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, as well as the strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties.
First of all, Speaker Mamytov noted that this meeting will be a good impetus for further development of relations.
"Cooperation with Uzbekistan is one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy," the Kyrgyz speaker said.
Talant Mamytov also congratulated the delegation led by Tanzila Narbayeva on the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.
"A number of major meetings and important events were held this year between the two countries. The state visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan, the first meeting of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Business Council, the 9th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation are examples of this. It is necessary to implement the agreements reached at these events," he added.
In turn, Tanzila Narbayeva thanked Talant Mamytov for the warm welcome.
"I congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of independence of the Kyrgyz Republic. We are united by common historical, cultural and brotherly ties. We need to further develop friendly relations," she said.
In addition, the meeting discussed borders and energy issues, as well as a proposal to increase trade turnover. The issue of ensuring the participation of observers in the upcoming presidential elections in Uzbekistan and parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan was also debated.
