Bishkek, Apr. 14, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Apr. 14 President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Speaker of Parliament Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev and leaders of parliamentary factions, his press service reported.
There was an exchange of views on the current situation and measures to prevent further spread of coronavirus infection in the country, to strengthen support to medical workers and all those involved in the frontline fight against infection.
It was noted that the trend of morbidity among citizens in recent days suggests that it is premature to remove restrictions on direct social contact among the population.
The Parliament speaker and the prime minister stressed the advisability of extending the state of emergency in some cities and regions of the country.
Parliamentary factions’ leaders voiced a number of proposals to the Government in terms of supporting entrepreneurship, socially vulnerable groups, stimulating the economy in case of the extension of the state of emergency.
They also drew attention to the strengthening of the provision of medical workers with personal protective equipment, minimization of bureaucracy while ensuring the operative work of the Republican Headquarters for the delivery of targeted assistance to those in need and provision of medical workers with the necessary means.
President Sooronbay Jeenbekov once again noted that the priority issue in the current situation is the safety and health of citizens.
From March 25 to Apr. 15, a state of emergency is in force in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Dzhalal-Abad, Nookat and Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast and in Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
Movement for all citizens, except for those who are issued with a pass, namely internal affairs officers and medical and civil servants, is limited between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (night time). A curfew is established.
