Bishkek, Oct. 9, 2018. /Kabar/. The Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues and the Rules of Procedure of the Jogorku Kenesh reviewed and approved the draft law on amending the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on State Awards and Honorary Titles in the Kyrgyz Republic on the second reading.
The draft law is aimed at preserving the heritage and perpetuating the memory of Chyngyz Aitmatov, popularizing the Kyrgyz literature, art and culture at the international level. Thus, the draft law provides for the creation of the Chyngyz Aitmatov Order, which will be awarded to Kyrgyz citizens for outstanding achievements in the field of literature, cinematography and other arts, as well as in their development and promotion at the international level. It is noted that this order can be awarded to foreign citizens for promoting the ideas of humanism, strengthening peace and the spiritual development of the humanity.
During the discussion of this draft law, deputies Taabaldy Tillaev and Zhyrgalbek Turuskulov proposed to revise the hierarchy of orders indicated in the draft law. One of the initiators of the draft law, MP Aida Kasymalieva, expressed agreement with the voiced proposals of the deputies.
