Bishkek, Dec. 28, 2021. / Kabar /. Visiting Special Representative of Chinese Government for Eurasia Li Hui met with Kyrgyz experts and reporters.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Chinese Embassy, well-known political scientists, Sinologists and media representatives.
Introducing Li Hui to meeting participants, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen said that the visit of the special representative is of particular importance as on January 5, 2022, the two countries will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
During the meeting the special representative spoke about Kyrgyz-Chinese relations, the 6th plenum of the Communist Party of China, the situation in Xinjiang, China's relations with Central Asian countries, the foreign policy of China and the concept of Chinese democracy.
He said that the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and China for 10 months of this year amounted to USD 5.3 billion and increased by 104.3% compared to the same period last year.
Li Hui also noted that prospects for cooperation have been outlined within the framework of the joint implementation of the One, Belt, One Road project and a number of joint economic projects are beneficial to the peoples of two countries.
“In recent years, China has remained the largest trading partner, source of goods and the largest investor for Kyrgyzstan,” he said.
He also dwelled on the joint fight against the pandemic, noting that Kyrgyzstan was one of the countries that sent humanitarian aid - anti-epidemiological agents. “Our countries provide each other with great assistance in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic and is an example for the international community in joint fight the pandemic,” he said.
Summing up the results of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China, Li Hui called it fruitful.
Speaking about relations with the Central Asian region, Li Hui said that China is ready to maintain equal relations with all the countries of Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan.
He added that China will further develop relations in the direction of maintaining security in the region.
