Special Rep of President Dinara Kemelova meets with ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Dec. 20, 2024. / Kabar /. Special Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic for the implementation of the Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions Dinara Kemelova held a meeting with the Ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan Nicolas Faye.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current and future cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the international mountain agenda and the Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions, in particular, the promotion of projects for the construction of hydro power plants in mountainous regions, eco-tourism, geoparks, the preservation of the cultural heritage of mountainous regions, the protection of glaciers and mountain ecosystems.

Dinara Kemelova spoke about the problems and challenges faced by residents of mountainous regions associated with climate change and natural disasters. During the discussion, issues of sustainable mountain development were also considered, in particular mountain tourism and the development of the potential of the historical and cultural heritage of mountain regions as important aspects of the country's social and economic life. In conclusion, the parties agreed on further cooperation within the framework of the Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions, as well as on other projects aimed at improving the socio-ecological living conditions of mountain residents and developing tourism.
