Special services detain militant planning terrorist attack in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 24, 2018 / Kabar /. The special services of Kyrgyzstan prevented possible terrorist attacks inside the country, the press service of the State Committee for National Security reported that a Kyrgyz citizen was detained on July 19 during the counter-terrorist activities.

According to intelligence agencies, the detainee was part of the bandit formation of the international terrorist organization since 2016, underwent diversionary training and took an active part in military operations in Syria against government forces.

In 2017, the detainee entered the territory of Kyrgyzstan to create an underground terrorist cell from among those who arrived from the zone of military operations in Syria and to carry out "armed jihad" using improvised explosive devices and firearms.

A criminal case was initiated.

The detainee has been placed in the jail. The investigation is under way.
