Bishkek, May 3, 2023. / Kabar /. President of the Kyrgyz Ski Federation Bakyt Tulozhanov told reporters at Kabar Agency about the federation's plans to develop this sport in the country.
“Working with children, we want to develop skiing in the regions at the international level. To do this, we attracted specialists from Switzerland to conduct a master class for local trainers. Now there are plans to purchase 470 pairs of skis in order to train children in the regions,” the president said.
Nursultan Kydykov, a member of the Coordinating Council of the Association of Ski Instructors of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted that it is planned to train athletes in Kyrgyzstan according to a single standard using the example of Switzerland.
Ivan Borisov has been appointed head coach of the sports school. He works as a children's coach in Orlovka. “At the suggestion of the Federation, I was elected the head coach of the Kyrgyz Republic, I want to devote my work to the development of this sport. We have already developed an annual training cycle for athletes, we now have 3 girls and 3 boys aged 15 to 16, and we intend to enter the youth competitions in 2024 in South Korea,” the coach said.
Vadim Karaulnykh, a coach from Karakol, added that everyone who wants to study will be accepted to the school, but children under 6 years of age are a priority in order to grow real professionals out of them.
