Tashkent, Feb. 7, 2019. /Kabar/. Juniors and cadets from Kyrgyzstan will take part in the I Open Central Asian Fencing Confederation Championship, which will be held at the capital's gymnastics complex on February 15-17 this year, the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported.
Representatives of Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will also fight for prize places. More than 150 fencers will compete with three types of weapons (epee, fencing foil, saber).
On January 25, 2019, the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan conducted a state registration of the Central Asian Fencing Confederation, which unites the fencing federations of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
This tournament will be the debut for the new Confederation.
