Spring field work completed in many areas of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, May 3, 2020 / Kabar /. Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republic Erkinbek Choduyev spoke today about the progress of spring field work in Kyrgyzstan in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic during an online briefing.

He said that at present the sown area in the country is 1 million 219 thousand ha.

Choduyev noted that spring sowing was completed in Batken, Jalal-Abad and Chui Oblasts.

“We are going to complete the spring field work. Thus, sowing wheat and barley is finished by 96%. Now, the mountainous regions are remained. By May 15-20, we think we will finish sowing by 100%. Sowing of corn, melons and other types of crops is in full swing. All work is carried out in an organized manner,” he stressed.
