Border Commissions of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan adopt protocol

Bishkek, June 5, 2021 . / Kabar / . A working meeting of the State Commission of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border was held Saturday at Karamyk section.

The sides declare that the difficult situation at this section of the state border has been resolved peacefully.

From the Kyrgyz side, the document was signed by Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, and from the Tajik side - by Saimumin Yatimov.

The parties signed a protocol on the following:

- To withdraw border posts 3 km inland on each side;

- To withdraw a troops and military equipment to their permanent deployment sites, leaving only regular border guards;

- To use the pastures in this area;

- Any actions on the state border must be previously agreed upon with the co-chairmen of the sides;

- Border guards of the sides should observe the line of conduct;

- Only information agreed by both sides should be presented in mass media, according to the decisions of previously signed protocols;

- Heads of topographic working groups are instructed to complete description of the section of the state border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in the shortest possible time;

- The sides should carry out explanatory work with the population of the border villages;

- The parties agreed to strictly adhere to the paragraphs of this protocol.

Having penetrated 1000 meters deep into the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic at 3:00 a.m. on June 4, installed a container on the Unzhu-Bulak undescribed section of the state border in Chong-Alay region of Osh Oblast.

A protest note was handed to Tajik Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Nazirmad Alizoda in connection with the purposeful penetration of Tajik soldiers and paramilitary equipment into the Kyrgyz territory in the area of Unzhu-Bulak.

Residents of Chong-Alay region of Osh Oblast, the villages of Zhekendi, Kara-Teyit, Kara-Myk, Chuluk and Shibe of Chong-Alay region were evacuated to Saiyt school in the village of Daroot-Korgon.

Local residents were also placed in building of secondary schools, 44 vocational schools and the Central Mosque.
