State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan: Conflict on border was once again provoked by Tajik side

Bishkek, Sept. 15, 2022. / Kabar /. The armed conflict on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was once again provoked by the Tajik side, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.

It said that the evidence of this is the previously committed provocative actions, starting from September 8, 2022, when, under the pretext of ensuring socio-political stability on the independence day of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Tajik side transferred its special forces to the Vorukh enclave, and also prepared firing positions (digging trenches ) near the conditional line of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.

In response to the ongoing provocative actions of the Tajik side, the Kyrgyz side has repeatedly initiated negotiations at various levels to prevent any illegal actions.

Despite earlier negotiations, on September 14, 2022, at 08.00, the Tajik side showed armed aggression in the area of ​​​​responsibility of the Bulak-Bashi border post of the Batken detachment of the State Committee for National Security (the southern side of the Vorukh enclave of Tajikistan) using firearms and mortars, the use of which was carried out simultaneously in 5 directions, including one village (Samarkandek).

As a result of another action of armed aggression, 10 civilian objects were damaged and 3 local residents received various injuries, including 11 years old child.

It should be noted that the armed attack on the territorial integrity of the Kyrgyz Republic and civilian residential facilities were also carried out by unidentified bearded persons dressed in black military uniforms without insignia of belonging to any kind of troops, outwardly resembling persons who are members of international terrorist organizations (militants).

In connection with the events that took place on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in the Batken region, we inform you that, despite any provocative actions from the outside, the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic are able to adequately respond to any violation of the agreements previously reached with the Republic of Tajikistan, which threatens to violate the territorial integrity of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic once again calls on the Tajik side to resolve all border problems and issues exclusively by peaceful means and at the negotiating table.
