Bishkek, Feb. / Kabar /. The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) should investigate the information about the meeting of MP, leader of Ata-Mekene faction Omurbek Tekebayev with ousted President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev in Cyprus, MP Uzarbek Zhylkybaev told today at a meeting of the parliament,
He said that not only domestic, but also the Turkish media write that, during his visit to Cyprus MP Tekebayev met with ousted President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. "Tekebayev confirmed that he flew to Cyprus to take part in the conference to meet with representatives of the European Parliament. Moreover, he found out that President Atambayev has a business on the island of Cyprus. MP Tekebeayev has not provided any evidence. But, nevertheless, the President immediately instructed the Prosecutor General's Office to verify Tekebayev’s information. I think it will be correct if the State Committee for National Security will check the information about the meeting of Tekebayev and Bakiyev," Zhylkybaev said.
Kurmanbek Bakiyev was ousted in 2010 after the riots in Kyrgyzstan.
