On Oct. 31-Nov.2 the State Migration Service of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the Insan-Leilek Public Foundation and the Solidarity Center held meetings with compatriots in Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg cities of Russia, the press service of the Migration Service reported.
According to official data, 33 thousand 835 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic reside in Ural Federal District in Novosibirsk Oblast, including 64 thousand 362 Kyrgyz citizens in Yekaterinburg.
The meetings were held in a working environment, and citizens shared their thoughts on the migration situation and the pressing problems faced by workers in Russia.
The most important issues and ways of solving them were noted, which should be continuously worked on to ensure the protection of the rights of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who are in labor migration.
“Many of our fellow countrymen have expressed readiness to make the feasible contribution to the decision of arising problems. The big role in the decision of these problems is played by association of our citizens in diasporas, which leaders render the help on different painful questions.
In order to ensure the safety and information of citizens, the State Migration Service of the Kyrgyz Republic is developing the institution of Public Representatives in the Russian Federation, which consists of leaders and activists of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Russia, today 44 Public Representatives provide advisory and practical assistance to migrant workers, represent their interests in police departments, courts and state bodies,” the report says.
