Bishkek, July 17, 2024. / Kabar / . President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov gave another interview to Kabar National Agency, in which he expressed condolences to relatives of citizens who died as a result of flooding in Osh Oblast.
The President also spoke about the work being done to prevent disasters.
He noted that construction was started in some places to prevent debris flows.
"Works are underway in many places and will continue in the future. As you know, previously all construction equipment was outdated from the 90s.
Over the past three years, we have completely renewed our equipment. Significant works have already started since last year. It is impossible to complete all works on mudflow prevention throughout the republic in one year".
Sadyr Zhaparov also noted that assistance will be provided to flood-affected people.
In this regard, he addressed citizens due to the need to insure their homes.
"If the house is insured, if it is damaged by mudslides, earthquake, fire or other elements, the state insurance company will quickly restore it. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to urge all citizens to register their property with the state insurance company. In the event of a disaster, the insurance company will fully reimburse your property. It is a state-owned company under the control of the state," concluded the head of the state.
