Statistical committees of Kyrgyzstan, Norway to continue active co-op

Bishkek, March 10, 2022. / Kabar /. Chairman of the National Statistical Committee Baktybek Kudaibergenov met with senior adviser of the Central Statistical Bureau of Norway A. Abelzet, who is in Bishkek on a mission to introduce a business register system.

Head of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan expressed readiness to continue active cooperation with the Central Statistical Bureau of Norway, the committee said.

Kudaibergenov expressed his gratitude to the Central Statistical Bureau of Norway, which is a long-term partner of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He noted that the current phase of cooperation with the Central Statistical Bureau of Norway is ending this year, but all the initiatives and developments achieved within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Norwegian cooperation will be implemented within the framework of the World Bank project "Modernization of tax administration and the statistical system."

Kudaibergenov expressed interest in achieving positive results in the framework of the project on the business register and the development of a metadata system. This project aims to lay a solid foundation for the effectiveness of the statistical system.

In turn, Abelzet expressed her gratitude to the chairman for the readiness to continue the implementation of initiatives within the framework of the World Bank project. She also provided general information on the projects that were implemented in the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Central Statistical Bureau of Norway and provided more detailed information on the business register system that is planned to be introduced in the near future.

She also noted that in May another mission of the Central Statistical Bureau of Norway is planned to Bishkek to introduce a metadata system, which is being actively worked on jointly with the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.

At the end of the meeting, an exchange of views took place on other issues of bilateral cooperation.
