Bishkek, Nov. 25, 2024. /Kabar/. Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkiye Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Rector of Gazi University in Ankara, Uğur Ünal.
During the conversation, issues in the field of education were discussed, and prospects for further development of cooperation between universities of the Kyrgyz Republic and Gazi University were outlined.
Relevant Protocols on cooperation with 4 universities of the Kyrgyz Republic were previously signed with Gazi University: the International University of Kyrgyzstan, Osh State University, Issyk-Kul State University, and KTU Manas.
In this context, Kazakbaev called for intensifying interaction and implementing the signed Protocols on cooperation between Gazi University and the above-mentioned higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic, including the exchange of teachers and researchers, academic exchange of students, joint research activities, and holding and mutual participation in seminars and conferences.
Ambassador Kazakbaev invited the Rector to pay a working visit to Kyrgyzstan.
Rector Unal expressed full support for the proposals from the Kyrgyz side and confirmed his willingness to engage in active cooperation. In this context, he announced his plan to make a working visit to Kyrgyzstan in the spring of 2025.
Ambassador Kazakbaev also requested the consideration of providing discounts on tuition fees and allocating dormitory space for students from Kyrgyzstan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants expressed confidence that the collaboration between Gazi University and the universities of the Kyrgyz Republic will enhance scientific, educational, and cultural ties between the two countries.
Currently, 24 students from the Kyrgyz Republic are studying at Gazi University, one of Turkiye's leading institutions and ranked among the top 10 out of 200 universities in the country. More than half of these students study free of charge and receive scholarships.
