As the Kyrgyz Republic celebrates its Independence Day, it brings me great pleasure to extend warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to the people of Kyrgyzstan on this historic and momentous occasion. In doing so, I can assure you that the Kingdom of Bahrain stands as a friend and partner, celebrating the progress and accomplishments of Kyrgyzstan, and recognizing the tremendous potential and opportunities ahead.
The relationship between our two nations holds great promise, and as we commemorate Kyrgyz Independence Day, it is a moment to reflect upon the strides we have taken together and the potential that lies ahead.
Over the years, Bahrain and Kyrgyzstan have nurtured diplomatic bonds founded on mutual respect and shared interests. One such testament to our cooperation was the recent meeting between His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor, and His Excellency Sadyr Zhaparov, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. This pivotal meeting, on the sidelines of the GCC-Central Asia summit in July 2023, underlined our commitment to consolidate cooperation and strengthen relations.
Our diplomatic journey commenced on 10 May 1993 with the establishment of formal diplomatic relations. Since then, our two countries have engaged in numerous official visits, reaffirming the significance we attach to our partnership. Notably, my visit to Bishkek on 7 July 2023 marked a significant step as I presented my credentials to His Excellency President Zhaparov, and extended warmest greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. These served to further strengthen the bonds of warmth and friendship that unite our nations.
During the meeting, I expressed Bahrain’s eagerness to deepen and expand bilateral relations, focusing on the best interests of both countries. The commitment to enhancing ties was reciprocated by H.E. President Zhaparov, who extended his greetings and best wishes to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Our diplomatic endeavors have led to the signing of several agreements on political cooperation and ongoing negotiations towards additional Memoranda of Understanding and agreements across sectors including finance, sports, tourism, culture, air services, and the establishment of a joint commission. These collaborative steps underline the depth of our commitment to fostering multifaceted cooperation.
The similarities that unite us form the foundation for our cooperation. Both Bahrain and Kyrgyzstan recognize the significance of stability, peace, and cooperation in ensuring prosperous futures for our citizens. Our collaboration extends beyond bilateral ties to regional cooperation, particularly in the context of the GCC-Central Asia Summit.
In conclusion, as Kyrgyzstan celebrates its Independence Day, the Kingdom of Bahrain stands as a steadfast friend, committed to strengthening our partnership for the betterment of our nations. Our shared journey continues to unfold, and together, we will embrace the opportunities and overcome the challenges that lie ahead.
May the Kyrgyz Republic achieve continuous progress, prosperity, and success as it embarks on another year of its remarkable journey.
