Strong earthquake registered at Kyrgyzstan-China border

Bishkek, May 7, 2020. /Kabar/. An earthquake of magnitude 6 in the epicenter was registered on Wednesday at 4:50 p.m. local time at Kyrgyzstan-China border.

According to the press service of the Institute of Seismology of the Kyrgyz National Academy of Sciences, the earthquake's origin was located 5 km northeast of Nura village, 5 km southeast of Irkeshtam village, 12 km southeast of Ikizyak village, 140 km southeast of Osh city.

In the settlements of Kyrgyzstan intensity of the quake made: 6 points in the villages of Nura, Irkeshtam, Ikizyak; 5 points in the villages of Kyok-Suu; 4 points in Kara-Kindik, Sary-Tash, Kichi-Karakol, Kejige, 3 points in the villages of Gulcha, Sufi-Kurgan, Tash-Koroo, Kyzyl-Korgon, Kashka-Suu, etc.; and about 3 points in the city of Osh.

According to preliminary data, no casualties or destruction reported.
