Baku, Oct. 15, 2019. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov took part in the 7th meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) in Baku (Azerbaijan).
At the meeting, the heads of the CCTS member states discussed current issues of cooperation within the Council, measures to build up trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkic-speaking countries.
Following the results of the meeting in Baku, a number of documents were signed aimed at deepening cooperation between Turkic-speaking states. A joint statement was also adopted on the entry of Uzbekistan to the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states.
In addition, First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, was given the status of "Lifetime Honorary Chairman of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States" and was awarded the highest order of the Turkic world.
The chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the CCTS moved to Azerbaijan.
The next meeting will be held in 2020 in Turkey.
Also on the sidelines of the Summit of the Turkic Council, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov held bilateral meetings with Presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The current state and perspective directions of cooperation between the countries for the near future were discussed.
