Swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed USAID Director in Kyrgyzstan held in Washington

Bishkek, Aug. 16, 2024. / Kabar/. On August 13, 2024, in Washington, D.C., Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States and Canada Baktybek Amanbaev took part in the swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed USAID Regional Director in Kyrgyzstan Sarah Werth, the Kyrgyz Embassy reported.

The ceremony was attended by USAID Administrator Samantha Power and representatives of the U.S. Department of State.

During the ceremony participants noted the high level of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and USAID, characterized by mutual respect for interests and pragmatism. The participants outlined the importance of continuing the implementation of socially significant projects and programs in the country.

In his speech, Ambassador Amanbaev expressed gratitude to USAID for project and program activities in Kyrgyzstan, which play a key role in the development of our country and provide new opportunities for the population. At the same time, the Ambassador proposed to bring cooperation to a qualitatively new level, filling it with new content.

New Director Sarah Werth took an oath of readiness for active cooperation in Kyrgyzstan.
