Switzerland supports reform of medical education in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, March 15, 2022. / Kabar /. Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Beishenaliev received on Tuesday Ambassador of Swiss Confederation to Kyrgyzstan Olivier Bangerter.

The meeting was also attended by Elvira Muratalieva, the Senior Project Coordinator on Education of the Embassy of Switzerland in Kyrgyzstan.

The sides discussed cooperation in the field of medical education reform in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The representatives of the embassy told about the final phase of the project "Reforms of medical education in the Kyrgyz Republic", which is implemented with the support of the Swiss Embassy of Switzerland in the republic.

In particular, it was noted that the project together with the Education Ministry developed new curricula for nursing education, which are planned to be introduced in four pilot colleges since September this year.

In the regard, the necessity to consider the possibility of distribution of the curriculum in other medical professional educational organizations of the republic and monitoring and evaluation of the project results was stressed.

Almazbek Beishenaliev expressed gratitude to the Embassy of Switzerland for its contribution to the health sector of Kyrgyzstan and reported on the readiness of the ministry upon completion of the project to jointly monitor and evaluate the quality of implementation of medical training programs.
