T. Dzhumakadyrov: It is possible to minimize threats of IS only by combining efforts under the auspices of the UN

Bishkek, May 26 / Kabar /. Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Temir Dzhumakadyrov took part in the VIII International Meeting of High Representatives on Security and Safety in Tver, the Russian Federation, on May 23-25, the Secretariat of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Within the framework of the meeting, the participants of the event discussed the role of modern technologies in international information security and measures to ensure it. The main directions of international cooperation in combating transnational organized crime are also examined.

During his speech at the roundtable entitled "The phenomenon of ISIL: the tasks of the world community in the fight against international terrorism", Temir Dzhumakadyrov stressed that in today's extremely dangerous world conditions Kyrgyzstan cannot stay aside, the country implements an active policy of unacceptability of terrorism and extremism .

In 2016 a package of anti-terrorist legislative measures was adopted in the Kyrgyz Republic, including pre-trial blocking of extremist websites and others.

"Carrying out a policy of peace and good-neighborliness, our country makes the utmost efforts to maintain stability in the region, especially in the Ferghana Valley, which is the object of the aspirations of the emissaries of terrorist groups. Law enforcers and special services continue to identify and neutralize members of international terrorist organizations and religious extremist underground," Dzhumakadyrov said.

The secretary of the Security Council stressed that today it is possible to minimize threats from the "Islamic state" only by combining the efforts of the international community under the auspices of the UN on a universally recognized international legal basis.

In the context of the situation in Afghanistan, Dzhumakadyrov said that, it is necessary to continue international efforts to the course of peace and stability.
