Taalaibek Sarybashev doesn’t recognize decision of City Council on his removal from Osh mayor office

Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. “I am formally elected mayor of Osh,” Taalaibek Sarybashev told journalists.

Yesterday, Oct. 6 deputies of Osh City Council dismissed Sarybashov.

He said that the decision of the council is illegal.

"I submitted the report, and deputies of the City Council considered it satisfactory. The decision was made in my absence. Yesterday I told them that we must act on the basis of law or we will sue," Sarybashov added.

"Yesterday deputies (of the Kyrgyz Parliament) approved Sadyr Zhaparov as prime minister. He made an appeal and urged all mayors and governors to return to their jobs," he said.

Taalaibek Sarybashev also added that the term of the Osh City Council is out, new mayor will be elected after re-election of the convocation. Then he intends to run for the post, and until he intends to remain in office.

On Oct. 6 deputies of the Osh City Council by majority of votes sent retired Osh mayor Taalaibek Sarybashev.
