Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2022. / Kabar /. As a result of the negotiations between the parties, the mortar shelling of a number of villages in Osh Oblast was stopped, the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to the results of negotiations between First Deputy Chairman - Director of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Ularbek Sharsheev and Commander of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan Rajabali Rahmonali, shelling from mortars and artillery installations of the positions of the Kyrgyz border guards in the villages of Teshik-Tash, Karamyk and Karool-Dөbo of Osh Oblast was stoppe,” the report said.

The Border Service of Kyrgyzstan continues to carry out activities aimed at stabilizing the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border.

The clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border started on September 14.

According to the Board Guard Service of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan attacked border guarding and civilian infrastructure objects of Kyrgyzstan along the perimeter of the state border in Batken Oblast.

On September 16 evening, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan reached agreement on ceasefire. However, the Tajik side having violated the previously reached agreements, fired mortars at Kyrgyz villages in another Osh Oblast of Kyrgyzstan on Saturday.
