Tajik side opens fire on border outposts of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, April 29, 2021. / Kabar /. The situation in the Golovnoy area of ​​ Batken region remains tense. Earlier, the Isfara-Vorukh highway was blocked by citizens of Kyrgyzstan, according to the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.

At 14:05 p.m. local time, a firefight began in the Golovnoy area between the military units of the parties. During the shootout, civilians and military personnel of the Kyrgyz Republic were injured.

Then, at about 17.00, the Tajik side opened fire on the Kapchigai, Min-Bulak, Dostuk, Kozhogar and Bulak-Bashi border outposts. As a result of the mortar shelling, the building of the Dostuk border outpost of the Batken frontier detachment burst into flames.

In response to the actions of the Tajik security officials, the Boru special-purpose detachment of the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan seized the Khoja Allo frontier post of Tajikistan.

Additional forces are being deployed on both sides along the entire perimeter of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.
