Bishkek, Aug. 13, 2021 . / Kabar / . Presidential envoy in Batken Oblast Abdikarim Alimbayev met on Thursday with Chairman of Executive Branch of Tajikistan’s Sughd Oblast Rajabboy Ahmadzoda.
The press service of Batken Oblast state administration reported that during the meeting, the sides discussed the cessation of trench digging and construction of fences by the Tajik side.
As a result of the negotiations, the construction of a fence on the Katta Tuz area of Leilek region on the Kyrgyz-Tajik side was stopped and the dug holes were backfilled.
Heads of law enforcement agencies of the two countries are also expected to meet to discuss measures to prevent conflicts on the border.
