Tajikistan continues to deploy additional forces and heavy equipment to borders of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Sept. 16, 2022. / Kabar /. As of 23:30 on September 16, the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border continues to be tense, the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The Tajik side continues shelling of the positions of the Kyrgyz side and intense battles are taking place in some areas.

At 22:20, Tajik servicemen began shelling the Tamdyk border outpost of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In addition, the Tajik side is deploying additional forces and means, heavy and automotive equipment to the borders of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In the border areas near the border of Kyrgyzstan opposite the Leilek and Batken regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Tajik side is regrouping forces and means.

The personnel of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, stationed in the Batken region, continues to repel enemy attacks.

Recall that on September 14, Tajikistan showed armed aggression by attacking Kyrgyz border outposts and settlements. On September 16, the Tajik side, violating all previously reached agreements, again attacked border and civilian facilities along the entire perimeter of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in the Batken region.

Tajikistan used heavy armored vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and aircraft in an attempt to seize the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Ministry of Health reported more than 50 wounded from the Kyrgyz side, the death toll is being specified. Also, the media headquarters reported a dead 15-year-old girl from the village of Dostuk.

On the sidelines of the SCO summit in Samarkand, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The leaders of the two countries agreed to instruct the relevant structures to cease fire and withdraw forces and assets from the line of contact.

According to the latest data, despite the agreement on a complete ceasefire, the Tajik military continues shelling Kyrgyz villages. They destroy the infrastructure of outposts, as well as schools, kindergartens, retail outlets, first-aid posts, and houses. Shouting nationalist slogans, they show blasphemy and mock the bodies of the Kyrgyz border guards who died at the post.
