According to the information of the press service of the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz citizens were carrying out construction work in the area of ​​Kocho-Boyu of Batken region. The border guards of Tajikistan arrived at the scene and began to demand to stop the construction.

A verbal skirmish grew into a scuffle. In the course of the scuffle, one of the Tajik servicemen fired 4 times in the air from a Makarov pistol.

Immediately, a meeting of the border representative of Kyrgyzstan in the Batken direction with the border representative of Tajikistan in the Isfara direction took place.

The Tajik side recognized the unlawfulness of the use of weapons, since the citizens of Kyrgyzstan were carrying out construction work not near the border line, but inside the village of Kocho-Boyu.

The border representative of Tajikistan announced that measures would be taken against the military personnel who allowed the conflict situation.

The sides agreed to conduct unilateral investigations and meet to summarize the results.

The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the State Border is characterized as stable.
