Taliban congratulates Uzbekistan on Independence Day

Tashkent, Sept. 2, 2021. / Kabar /. The Taliban movement sent a congratulatory letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Yusup Kabulzhanov told.

In the congratulation letter the Taliban movement expressed their desire to build fruitful and friendly relations with neighboring Uzbekistan. “We confirm our interest in continuing the implementation of infrastructure projects in Afghanistan with the participation of Uzbekistan, in particular, the construction of a railway and power lines. Afghanistan will provide all the necessary assistance to the Uzbek partners in this direction," it said.

The letter was sent by a member of the negotiating group of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and press secretary of the political office of the Taliban Mohammad Suheil Shahin on behalf of the leadership of the movement.

Last Friday, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that in Uzbekistan two years ago they predicted how the situation in Afghanistan would develop, so he instructed to start a dialogue with the Taliban, when no country communicated with them.
