Tashkent, March 27, 2018 / Kabar /. Following the results of the international conference on Afghanistan, the Tashkent Declaration has been adopted, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov said
He said that this is one of the indicators of joint work, a common unity in the approaches to the Afghan issue, the adopted document is an indicator that the world community is tired of wars and violence. "I want to urge everybody once again to show reason, solidarity, support to the Afghan people and make the maximum of joint efforts to bring peace and stability to this country," he said.
The document also reflects a common position on the need for the early start of direct talks between the Government of Afghanistan and the Taliban without any preconditions.
The conference was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Central Asia and Russia, the UN Secretary General's Special Representative for Afghanistan Tadamichi Yamamoto, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, the US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon, special representatives for Afghanistan and Pakistan from Britain, Germany, Italy, special adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, special envoy of the Foreign Ministry of Qatar, high delegations of NATO, CSTO, France and the United Arab Emirates.
