Tashkent, June 18 / Kabar /. A zone chess tournament of Central Asian countries has started in Tashkent, the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan reported.
Participants of the national chess federations of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan take part in it.
The competitions will be held on the Swiss system in 9 rounds. The winner and the silver medalist of the men's zonal tournament get the right to participate in the 2017 World Cup, and the winner among women gets the right to participate in the women's world championship.
The prize fund of the tournament is $ 5 thousand.
The championship will last until June 25.
