Team of Kyrgyz schoolchildren prepares for Chemistry Olympiad in Paris

Bishkek, July 11, 2019. /Kabar/. The team of schoolchildren is preparing for the 51st International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad, which will be held on July 21-30 this year in Paris, the press service of the Kyrgyz Education Ministry reported.

The training is organized in the framework of the summer camp at Issyk-Kul, which focuses on the in-depth study of chemistry.

The school-camp is also attended by gifted children from all regions of the country.

“In the camp we were provided with all the conditions for training: excellent teaching staff, equipped classrooms. Over the past few days, we have grown even more fond of chemistry,” Elmar Zikirov, the 11th grade student and participant of the training, said.

Paris will celebrate chemistry in 2019 with the 51st International Chemistry Olympiad, from 21 to 30 July 2019.

The UNESCO declared that 2019 will be the international year of periodic table of chemical elements. 1869 is considered as the year of discovery of the Periodic System by Dmitry Mendeleev. 2019 will be the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements.

Searchers, engineers, teachers and students will organize many events or lessons in schools, universities, chemical companies and with museums in order to highlight the role of chemistry in academic science, in industry and its contributions to technological, economical and sustainable development.
