Bishkek, May 25, 2020 / Kabar/. A telephone conversation took place between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Canada François-Philippe Champagne.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the conversation, the parties discussed issues of cooperation to overcome the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the issue of easing the debt burden of the Kyrgyz Republic to international financial institutions. Minister Aidarbekov expressed gratitude to the Canadian side for the assistance rendered in this direction.
An agreement was reached on establishing working contacts between medical experts of the two countries directly involved in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 to exchange experience.
In terms of developing bilateral cooperation, ways to diversify economic ties between countries, exchange experience in the field of environmental protection, and encourage humanitarian contacts were also considered. The schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest levels was discussed as well.
Ministers also reviewed existing international initiatives of the two countries.
