Bishkek, May 20, 2024. /Kabar/. Telephone conversations took place between the heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, and Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the conversation the parties noted their readiness for close interaction and strengthening of Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations in various areas, which are traditionally of a friendly nature and are progressively developing at the bilateral level, as well as within the framework of international and regional organizations, primarily the UN, SCO, OIC, etc.
The Kyrgyz minister informed about the incident on May 18 of this year in Bishkek, with the participation of foreign students, including citizens of Pakistan, and emphasized that public order is currently fully ensured and the situation is under the control of the competent authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the same time, the Kyrgyz side expressed serious concern that fake and false information about this incident and the current situation in Kyrgyzstan is being disseminated in foreign media, social networks, including in Pakistan.
In this regard, Jeenbek Kulubaev emphasized the importance of using reliable information, as well as carrying out appropriate work to suppress false information and publications in the information space of Pakistan, which could harm Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations.
In turn, the head of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry expressed full understanding of the situation and gratitude for the effective measures taken by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic to ensure public order and the safety of Pakistani students in the Kyrgyz Republic, and also noted their readiness for active interaction on this issue.
In order to further exchange data and discuss issues of development of Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations, the parties agreed to hold a bilateral meeting within the framework of the SCO Ministerial Council on May 21, 2024 in Astana (Kazakhstan), as well as to organize in the near future inter-Ministerial consultations on consular and legal issues between the Kyrgyz Republic and Pakistan in Bishkek.
The parties were unanimous in the opinion that the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan are close fraternal peoples and will work together to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
