First textile factory is being built in Kyrgyzstan's Osh since country's independence

Bishkek, Sept. 10, 2020 / Kabar /. A textile factory is being built in Osh, which will provide jobs for up to 7 thousand people. This became known on Sept. 9, when President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov familiarized himself with the construction of a textile factory in Osh, his press service reported.

Businessman Nurbek Osmonov briefed that the enterprise will produce clothes, trousers, knitwear, as well as fabrics and accessories.

The planned annual capacity of the enterprise is 10 million pieces of various types of clothing, 1.5 thousand tons of wool, 4.5 million running meters of fabrics.

Equipment from Japan and Germany will be used in production.

The total volume of attracted investments is more than USD 38 million, of which 970 million soms have already been spent on construction. The founders of the factory invested their own funds in the amount of USD 19 million in production, and credit resources were provided by RSK Bank in the amount of USD 6 million. In the future, it is planned to start cooperation with the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund.

This will be the first textile factory under construction in Osh Oblast since the country's independence.

President Jeenbekov expressed his satisfaction with the scale of the future enterprise. He emphasized that the brand "Made in Kyrgyzstan" can be successfully consolidated not only among environmentally friendly agricultural products, but also among light industry products.
