Ambassador Otunbayev meets with compatriots residing in Canada

Bishkek, Mar.12, 2020./Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the United States and Canada Bolot Otunbayev met on Tuesday with representatives of Kyrgyz diaspora residing in Canada.

The meeting was held as part of the ambassador's working visit to Canada, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

During the meeting, Otunbayev informed his compatriots about the country's policy, aimed at protecting the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens living abroad, the introduction of automated information systems to provide consular services to Kyrgyzstanis, as well as the upcoming parliamentary elections to the Jogorku Kenesh in 2020.

In turn, representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora spoke about everyday life in Canada and shared the experience of the host country in various areas of development that could be applied in Kyrgyzstan.

At the same time, the Consular Department of the Embassy received citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to provide consular services, including acceptance of applications for exchange/issuance of civil passports, registration of birth certificates, registration at the Embassy's consular office, provision of notarial actions, collection of biometric data.
