EXPO 2020 in Dubai is going to end in late March.
The World EXPO started on October 1, 2021 and will last till March 31, 2022. Originally scheduled for 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being postponed, organizers kept the name EXPO 2020 for marketing and branding purposes.
The Dubai World EXPO 2020 is an event showcasing architecture, global culture and innovation that brings together participants from 192 countries and six continents.
To date, more than 20 million people visited EXPO 2020.
The theme of the Expo is "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future", underscores how the modern world is interconnected and the need to generate sustainable solutions to global problems.
The main site of EXPO 2020 Dubai is a 438-hectare area located between the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The master plan, designed by the American firm HOK, is organized around a central plaza, entitled Al Wasl, enclosed by three large thematic districts. Each one is dedicated to one of the sub-themes of Expo 2020 – Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.
Sustainability
The pavilions of this district showcase advanced technologies that different countries are developing to support sustainable development. With the help of the exposition, one can imagine how in the high-tech future it will be possible to live in harmony with nature.
Mobility
Here you can see how mobility changes the way of life, blurs the boundaries between the physical and digital worlds, people, large masses fall between the particles of cultures, and also exchange tastes and ideas.
Opportunity
The exposition is dedicated to the relationship between life and action, meeting people who turn dreams and aspirations into tomorrow's reality.
Kyrgyzstan
The pavilion of Kyrgyzstan at EXPO 2020 in Dubai in located in Opportunity district.
Kyrgyzstan showcases the economic and tourism potential of the country and the development of innovations, knowledge and the widespread use of information technologies. The stand of the country also demonstrates innovative solutions of Kyrgyz companies in the field of irrigation of drylands and presents export products of domestic manufacturers.
Kyrgyzstan Pavilion also tells about the history and culture of the country.
With its rocky mountains, majestic lakes and rolling open grasslands, Kyrgyzstan is a true unspoiled Central Asian gem – a land where nomadic traditions such as horse trekking and hunting with golden eagles still thrive.
The pavilion presents an interactive yurt, a multimedia table displaying dishes of national cuisine, a map of Kyrgyzstan, and a musical projection of the performance of folk music.
Uzbekistan
The pavilion of Uzbekistan is located between the thematic areas Sustainable Development and Mobility and represents the theme of mobility at the EXPO 2020 exhibition.
In the Uzbekistan Pavilion, you will be able to travel back in time and learn about the mobility of ideas, people and cultures that have come together in a common desire to shape our future. The purpose of the exhibition is to show the past, present and future of Uzbekistan.
The architecture of the pavilion reflects the concept of unity and travel along the Great Silk Road. The pavilion is a construction of three elliptical buildings that symbolize the cities on the Great Silk Road: Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. These buildings represent a journey through Uzbekistan in three dimensions: past, present and future. The facade of the pavilion is made in the traditional architectural style: the pavilion is surrounded by an oasis and symbolizes Uzbekistan's virtual journey from the past to the future.
The Uzbekistan Pavilion is a trio of smooth, white, flat-topped towers decorated with wide strips of blue mosaic-style patterns set into an oval building. The centre of the structure is dominated by a modern arch printed with a photograph of Uzbek city Samarkand’s ornate Registan town square — glowing with shades of azure, lapis lazuli, and gold.
At 1,739 square metres, the pavilion is divided into three sections - detailing the country's history in one, where it is today in another and its expectations for the future in the third.
Turkmenistan
Turkmenistan pavilion in EXPO 2020 is located in Mobility district and is an adventure of a journey across Turkmenistan’s culture, escorted by Akhal-Teke horses.
The pavilion features a fountain sculpture of five Akhal-Teke horses at its entrance.
The concept of Turkmenistan pavilion is to showcase Turkmen Heritage, culture and modern achievements with their divine dimension, developments and progression towards the expendable achievement Goals.
The Turkmen pavilion’s theme at EXPO 2020 is ‘power of five’. A fountain model featuring five horses and 50m LED front side invites visitors to explore in Turkmen pavilion.
The area of the pavilion is 1,581 square meters.
Each country participating in the EXPO has its own pavilion with a unique design, where presentations are held on topics that represent countries. One can pleasantly surprised by the unusual innovations and creative solutions of many EXPO pavilions.
