Bishkek, Jan.18, 2020./Kabar/. Following the results of 2019, the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan has increased by 26,2% comparing to 2018, and made up $42,2 billion, the press service of the country's Investment and Foreign Trade Ministry said.
"Following the results of 2019, the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Uzbekistan made up $42.2 billion, having increased by $8.7 billion compared to the same period last year (26.2% growth)," the report says.
According to the ministry's data, the volume of exports from Uzbekistan increased by 28%, up to $17.9 billion, imports - up to $24.3 billion (+25%).
The main foreign trade partners of the republic are China (18.1% in the total trade turnover), Russia (15.7%), Kazakhstan (8%), South Korea (6.5%) and Turkey (6%).
Uzbekistan's main export items in 2019 were gold and precious metals (28.5% of total exports), services (19.9%), energy (14.1%), textiles (9.1%), food products (8.5%), ferrous and non-ferrous metals (9.3%).
The main import items in the country last year were machinery and equipment (38.4%), services (10%), ferrous metals (9.1%), chemical products and plastics (6.8%), food products (5.2%) and energy (3.8 %).
