The level of gas distribution in Kyrgyzstan needs to be raised to 50% - Abylgaziev

Bishkek, Apr. 5, 2019. /Kabar/. The level of gas distribution in Kyrgyzstan needs to be raised to 50% in the near future, Prime Minister of the country Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev told at a government meeting.

According to him, Gazprom has invested 16 billion rubles in gas infrastructure of the country.

“Recently we had a meeting with head of Gazprom Alexey Miller. There was a meeting with Bolot Abildayev, the head of the company in Kyrgyzstan. We set great plans. We need to increase the gas distribution to 50%,” he said.

Abylgaziev said that as part of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan, a roadmap on oil and gas was signed. “If possible, we need to work with them and develop the oil and gas industry,” he said.

According to him, the country has its own reserves, so the arrival of a major investor is desirable. “On this occasion, it is said that it is wrong to give everything to one company. But in other countries there is a rivalry for a company like Gazprom to join them. In the European Union and the United States, they are struggling to work with Gazprom. We should appreciate it. Therefore, the opinion that everything was given to one company is wrong. The arrival of such a company in the Kyrgyz Republic is a great contribution. This is a contribution to social and economic life, a good deal of jobs will be created. It is necessary to count all this. And if there is a great contribution to the economy, then such a decision should be made. Such words are spoken by those who do not understand the economy, or those who are jealous of the fact that the oil and gas industries will develop in Kyrgyzstan,” Abylgaziev added.

The Prime Minister urged the heads of departments to conduct a correct policy, which will be aimed at the development of the country's economy.

He recalled that an agreement has been signed on investment in Jeruy deposit in the amount of $ 600 million with a large Russian bank.

Abylgaziev also drew attention to the $ 1.2 billion agreement signed with Rosgeologia at the Kyrgyz-Russian inter-regional conference.
