WB to provide grant to Kyrgyzstan to modernize tax and statistical systems

Bishkek, Jan. 27, 2020./Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On ratification of the grant letter of agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/International Development Association (World Bank) to provide grant for preparation of project on modernization of the tax administration and statistical system (grant TF0B0175 of the ECAPDEV Trust Fund).

The Law was signed on Nov.5, 2019 in Bishkek, the President's press service said.

According to the Law, adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) on Dec.26, 2019 the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan should notify the World Bank on the implementation of domestic procedures necessary for the entry into force of the grant letter of agreement.

The Law comes into force after 10 days after its official publication.

The grant letter of agreement was signed in order to receive a grant for preparation of a project to modernize the tax administration and statistical system.

As part of the implementation of this grant letter of agreement, the World Bank provides support to the Kyrgyz Republic through a grant in the amount of USD 384,900.
