There are 56 schools in Uzbekistan teaching in Kyrgyz

Tashkent, Oct. 1, 2018. / Kabar /. There are 56 schools in Uzbekistan, teaching children in Kyrgyz language, where more than 8,000 children study.

As is known, the Day of Teachers is celebrated today in Uzbekistan.

On Sept. 5, 2018, the President of Uzbekistan adopted a decree "On Additional Measures to Improve the Management of the Public Education System," which indicates new prospects for the development of the sphere.

Also there is a bachelor's program "Native language and literature: Kyrgyz language and literature", in Andijan State University, where 75 students were trained in the 2016/2017 school year.

There are six national cultural centers in Uzbekistan - in Andijan, Namangan, Fergana, Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions, which unite the Republican Kyrgyz Cultural Center of Uzbekistan, which has been operating in Tashkent since 1995.

In Uzbekistan, the Day of Teachers is celebrated annually on Oct. 1, 1997, and is a day off.
