There are 9 thsd 600 prisoners in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Jan.28, 2020. /Kabar/. There are 9 thousand 600 detainees in penal institutions of Kyrgyzstan, Head of the Department of Sentences Execution and Special Records Bakyt Termechikov said at the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

According to him, 5 thousand 300 of them are in correctional facilities, 1 thousand 700 are in pre-trial detention facilities and 2 thousand 500-in settlement colonies.

"The number of life prisoners is more than 340. More than 400 people are also serving sentences for extremism, six of them women. A total of 286 women are in prison," Termechikov said.
