There are no citizens of Kyrgyzstan among victims of earthquake in Japan

Bishkek, Jan. 3, 2024. / Kabar/. According to the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, there were no dead or injured citizens of Kyrgyzstan as a result of the earthquakes that occurred in Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Five citizens of Kyrgyzstan staying in the city of Toyama (near the epicenter) were evacuated from their homes to the nearest shelters.

The Ministry and the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan are monitoring the situation and are in touch with citizens of Kyrgyzstan staying in Japan.

On January 1, a series of strong earthquakes occurred in Ishikawa Prefecture. The strongest one had a 7.6 magnitude.

According to the latest data, about 50 people were killed and dozens were injured.
