Bishkek, Nov. 25, 2022. /Kabar/. Currently, there are more than 7 thousand citizens with disabilities in Osh, among them about 1 thousand are children, the press service of the Osh city administration said.
A forum dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities “I can!” was held in the southern capital on Thursday. The purpose of the event is to increase the participation of persons with disabilities in the processes of economic and social development of society by expanding opportunities through employment.
It was noted that about 150 thousand soms are allocated annually from the local budget to support people with disabilities, while 250 thousand soms were allocated in 2022.
The opening ceremony was attended by Nilufar Alimzhanova, deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Venera Ryskulova, vice mayor of Osh, Evgenia Li, deputy director of the country office of the Solidarity Center in the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of the employment service and the city’s education department, public organizations engaged in providing support for people with disabilities, experts, entrepreneurs, the civil sector.
