Bishkek, 1 August / Kabar /. Among the presidential candidates 11 people have been prosecuted, 7 have been convicted and even repeatedly, chairwoman of the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan Nurzhan Shaildabekova told at a press conference.
She said that while this figure is being specified, because they just finished reception of documents, and not all candidates are verified yet.
"One has a double conviction for fraud, there are candidates who were convicted for illegally obtaining financial benefits. It is specified whether their conviction was repaid," Shaildabekova said.
She also said that among the applicants there is a person who was convicted of false entrepreneurship and unlawful release from the criminal liability of a minor.
"Three candidates were convicted for public statements about forcible seizure of power, hooliganism. Another candidate was prosecuted for complicity in a crime connected with corruption and fraud, "she said.
The head of the CEC informed that there are also candidates who were involved in fomenting ethnic hatred and illegal storage and trafficking of drugs.
It should be noted that 59 people submitted applications to the CEC to participate in the presidential elections.
The presidential elections will be held on October 15.
