Bishkek, Sept. 23, 2022 / Kabar /. An ethnic Tajik living in Kyrgyzstan, Barakatullo Sadykov, at a meeting with journalists denied the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan about pressure on citizens of Tajik nationality.
“I am Sydykov Barakatullo was born in Tajikistan, but later my whole family moved to Kyrgyzstan and for 30 years I have been living and calling this country my home. So, throughout the entire period, no one pointed a finger at me and my family and did not humiliate me in connection with my nationality. The information about the oppression of Tajiks, distributed in society, is a provocation,” he said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan made a statement on Wednesday about cases of harassment, intimidation, discrimination and persecution of Tajik citizens and ethnic Tajiks residing in Kyrgyzstan that have allegedly increased in recent days.
The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan indicated that commercial shops of ethnic Tajiks were closed in the Kadamzhai district, and citizens of Kyrgyzstan evacuated from the border areas were purposefully placed in the homes of ethnic Tajiks.
