Bishkek, Nov. 19, 2021 . / Kabar / . There is a shortage of veterinarians in Kyrgyzstan, especially in regions, Almaz Sharshenbekov, the director of the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety told during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He added that there are 870 state veterinarians and 1 thousand 300 private ones in the country.
"In regions, about 80 villages in one rural count account for 1-2 veterinarians only, it's a heavy burden. Every year about 70 specialists graduate from domestic universities. We are now doing some work to increase the number of veterinary specialists,” the director of the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety noted.
