Bishkek, June 21, 2021. / Kabar /. In Kyrgyzstan, there is an increase in the number of patients with coronavirus infection COVID-19 among young people and children, head physician of the Republican Infectious Diseases Hospital Gulzhigit Aliev told Kabar Agency.
He said that today all 400 beds in the hospital are overcrowded, among them 19 are children. “Yesterday, 39 patients asked for help, 36 of them were hospitalized, including 4 children under 11 years old. Among children, there is even a 2 month old baby who has a positive diagnosis. Most worrisome is the fact that children come with a positive PCR result, pneumonia, in severe and moderate forms. There were few young people among the patients last year. And now young people 20-30 years old are in intensive care. 111 patients are on the device. This is very worrisome,” Aliev said.
The chief doctor believes that the main reason for the increase in the spread of coronavirus is that people do not follow basic sanitary measures and continue to go to public events. “Parents go to toi, funerals and other crowded events and infect their children. Do not forget that we have now found several strains of COVID-19, which have mutated and the spread is more active,” the head physician warned.
