Bishkek, Mar.12, 2020. /Kabar/. This year the spring fieldwork started earlier than last year, Kyrgyzstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov said during familiarization with the course of preparations for spring fieldwork of agricultural subjects and the state of irrigation systems in Chui Oblast, the press service of the Government reported.
The deputy PM added within the framework of the Government’s order a meeting of the headquarters for spring field works was held, during which the corresponding orders were given concerning the sowing works, readiness for irrigation season and harvest.
"In Batken, Dzhalal-Abad and Osh Oblasts of the republic, as well as in Chui Oblast, spring fieldwork has a good pace. The structure of cultivated areas has been determined. This year's total area under crops is 631 thousand 800 ha, 8 thousand ha more than in 2019," Kubatbek Boronov said.
During the trip, Boronov visited Alamudun settler and got acquainted with preparatory works for irrigation season.
He also said KGS 205.3 million were provided in 2020 for the preparation of state irrigation systems, and as of Mar. 10, 2020, work had been carried out for KGS 72.8 million.
