Three artificial glaciers created in Kyrgyzstan’s Batken

Bishkek, Jan.14, 2025. /Kabar/. Three artificial glaciers have been created in Batken Oblast of Kyrgyzstan in 2024.

One of them is created in Leilek region, two - in Kayindy and Gaz villages of Batken region, the press service of the oblast state administration reported.

Activities on freezing glaciers are carried out within the framework of projects of local self-government bodies and pasture committees, non-governmental organizations aimed at solving problems related to climate change.

Artificial glaciers are used to improve irrigation of pastures.
